The projects all support our three strategies and pillars of work:

– COLLABORATING WITH INSIGHTS

PROJECT NO. 1: Café

Project description:
Café for local Bedouin women.
The local Bedouin women will be involved in establishing and in the daily operation of the café.

Back ground for the project:
The status of Bedouin women lies in stark contrast with “modern” societies. A Bedouin woman’s life is deeply rooted in the family and tribe, and her primary responsibility is caring for the family, the house, clothing and for the livestock. The Bedouin women have no place to go within the Bedouin area if they want to meet other women outside their house or a house belonging to their family members.

Goal for the project:
To establish and operate a café where the local Bedouin women from the different tribes can meet, drink a cup of Bedouin tea or coffee and talk.

Pillars of Work:
ACTING WITH TRUST: The project will strengthen the Bedouin women’s ability to trust and it will improve their integrity in the decision-making process as the café will be established and operated by the local Bedouin women.

Many women want to do more than their primary responsibility; the family and the household. They also want to work and to help and support the community learning to read and write the Arabic and the English language is the first step to for the women to discover how important they are as individuals in the society.

Goal for the project:
To establish and operate a place for language learning where the local Bedouin women from the different tribes can meet and learn to read and write the Arabic and the English language.

Pillars of Work:
COMMUNICATION WITH POWER: The project will strengthen the Bedouin women’s ability to communicate which is essential to facilitate cooperation and strengthening collaboration in the society.

PROJECT NO. 3: Environmental Friendly Handcraft

Project description:
Entrepreneurship for local Bedouin women.
The local Bedouin women will be involved in establishing and in the daily manufacturing of environmental friendly handcraft.

Back ground for the project:
In the economic sphere, Bedouin women have the right to work and produce income, as long as their work is carried out in women’s space. The money that a Bedouin woman makes is hers, and traditionally they gain income though traditional handcrafts. A minority of the Bedouin Women are working and they want to earn their own money and support the community.

Goal for the project:
